The Class of 2026 wants to make the most of their senior year at Juniata Valley. Senior Sunrise was the first of many activities they plan to organize and participate in. Seniors Miley Byler and Anna Taylor, took the lead on the event. The event entailed waking up bright and early and meeting at the football field to enjoy the sunrise, breakfast, games and lots of pictures. While sharing donuts and chocolate milk, the seniors looked back on all the times they had grown up together, planning their future in the process. Eve McCrum, one of the seniors who attended, stated, “it was fun and gave us an opportunity to come back together before the school year officially started.”

Throughout the school year the seniors plan to continue more activities such as senior splashin’ and senior sunset. Senior splashin’ is a game the seniors plan to play, where they get a target and try to get them out. The last one standing wins and gets bragging rights. Senior Sunset is similar to Senior Sunrise, however, it will take place in the evening, and the seniors will watch the sunset on the football field for one last time together before they graduate. A handful of seniors also decided to do a little throwback and get little kid backpacks to use throughout the school year.

The seniors at Juniata Valley are looking forward to a variety of things throughout the school year. Peyton Houck stated, “I am looking forward to all the fun activities as a senior and opportunities as the FFA President and eventually getting accepted into a college.” Caden Walters, a senior at Juniata Valley who also attends the Career and Technology Center, stated, “I am looking forward to obtaining my certificate for welding to help get a job right out of high school.”

Between Senior Sunrise, Homecoming, Senior Splashin’, Senior Sunset, Prom, and the time they get to spend together, the Class of 2026 is making the best of their time together. The memories they are making this year and all the years before will last a lifetime and be something they will never forget.
