During the past year, the yearbook club at JVHS has changed ownership. The new club advisor is the school’s new business and career teacher, Pam Ehgartner.

She was hired at the beginning of this school year, and through time has proved to be a diligent worker, role model, and leader for the students that she interacts with during and after the school day.

Along with the shift in ownership, Ehgartner said, “Our small but dedicated team now meets deadlines, plans photography coverage for school events, and uses surveys to gather student input so the book reflects the entire school community.” The new club president presents a bright future for JV’s yearbook club.

The yearbook club at JV gives also provides many opportunities for students who participate in it. Throughout the school year, students involved with the club are assigned sections of the school’s yearbook to create and perfect. These portions of the book can be crafted by one student, but are usually made in a group effort from multiple club members. After being revised and approved by Ehgartner, the page/section of the yearbook is completed and another is assigned.

As the year progresses, students in the yearbook club can be found at different events involving the high school. Whether it be taking notes and pictures or attending pep rally’s and fund raisers, the club makes a constant effort to update the yearly edition of JV’s yearbook.

Moving forward, Ehgartner and the yearbook club plan to further expand and “incorporate more student voice through surveys, QR code submissions, and interactive features so the yearbook reflects our whole school community.” These goals continue to become larger as the club achieves more and grows in size. The dedication and drive in the students and staff involved with the yearbook club is crystal clear. The addition of Pam Ehgartner along with the commitment of the involved students and advisors provide a fantastic experience for everyone involved with JVHS’ yearbook club.
