Peer support groups will begin again soon at Juniata Valley High School.  Groups will be available every other week during lunch or 8th period for 6th and 7th/8th grades and during lunch periods for 9th-12th grades.  The facilitator of the group is Christy Steidle, Prevention Specialist from Mainstream Counseling, in collaboration with Stephanie Galloway-Maslanik, JVSD school social worker.

Possible topics include anger management, self-esteem, stress, anxiety, drugs & alcohol, healthy relationships, grief and loss, academic challenges, motivation, positive choices, accepting responsibility, social skills, bullying, respect and overall personal/social development.

Confidentiality of what is shared in group is of utmost importance and will be emphasized.  Please print and return the attached permission slip for your child to participate.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us!
