                                                                                           INVITATION FOR BIDS


The Juniata Valley School District will receive bids for the Reconstruction of the High School Running Track and related Field Event Reconstruction, until 11:00 AM,  April, 22, 2020 at the District Office, 7775 Juniata Valley Pike, Alexandria, PA 16611. Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. 


Sealed Bids are invited for:


Base Bid No 1: Perform earthwork and grading, bituminous and crushed aggregate paving, chain link fencing, concrete work, restoration and seeding.

Base Bid No 2: Provide synthetic surfacing on track and field event areas, over bituminous paving as performed in Base Bid No 1.


All work for both Contracts shall be as specified and shown on the Contract Documents.


This project is subject to Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Rates.


Contract Documents, are on file at the School District Office at the above address. (Phone (814) 669-1100, and may be obtained from the School District upon payment of $50.00 (non-refundable) for each set of Documents so obtained.  Plans may be examined without cost. 


A certified check or bank draft, payable to The Juniata Valley School District or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an acceptable surety, in an amount equal to  ten ( 10 %) percent of the total Base Bid shall be submitted with each bid as a guaranty that if the Proposal is accepted, the Bidder will execute the Contract and file acceptable Performance and Labor and Material Bonds within ten (10) days after Contract award.


The Juniata Valley School District, the Owner, reserves the right to reject any and all Proposals and waives any formality or technicality in any Proposal in its best interest.


Bids may be held by the Owner for a period not to exceed thirty (30) days from the date of Bids for the purpose of reviewing the Bids and investigating the qualifications of the Bidders, prior to awarding the Contract.
