Mr. Matt Shervey--Director of Bands This is my first year at Juniata Valley, and I"m very excited to be here!!! I graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education and Percussion Performance. Over the past five years, I have taught music and band at Richfield Intermediate School (MN), Blaine High School (MN), Robbinsdale Cooper High School (MN), and Lewisburg High School (PA). I have also performed as a professional musician at Valleyfair Amusement Park in Shakopee, MN and with the Minnesota Brass Drum and Bugle Corps. I currently live in State College, PA with my wife, Sarah. We both love living in Central Pennsylvania, and enjoy hiking, eating great Mexican food, and cheering on the Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Gophers football teams. I am looking forward to meet all of you and for a great school year here at JV!!! Mrs. Bobbi Manyara--Colorguard Instructor Mr. Cecil Fish--Percussion Instructor Cecil Fish has been a percussionist for most of his life, and is has been teaching percussion at JV for the past few years. He graduated from Penn State in 2008 with a BFA in Painting and a minor in Anthropology. He marched in the Penn State Blue Band Drumline from 2003-2007, playing snare drum. He also teaches percussion for the Tyrone Area High School Marching Band, and plays concert percussion in the Huntingdon Summer Community Band. If there is one underlying philosophy he wants to convey to his students, it is that the learning process in music never ends; everyone always has room to improve and deepen their understanding.Visit him on the web at http://www.cecilfish.com/. |
